Quickie: The Empty Mirror (a.k.a. “Inside Hitler’s Head”)

Channel surfing again, when I should be working on something else… I come across The Empty Mirror – a particularly bizarre little fantasy about what might have cycled through Hitler’s mind after the war was over, had he survived… and the dictation (by a great dictator, aptly) of a rambling new manuscript. All the top cronies put in appearances– Goering, Goebbels, even Eva Braun– and there’s lots of Wagner and little tow-headed children. And Freud conducts an analysis of the distorted little monster.

An acquired taste, to say the least. But kind of interesting.

I’d love to see a similar fantasy about Dubya Bush, the Iraq war and his philosophy… Condi, Rummy, Scooter, Cheney, Turdblossom, Chertoff, Ashcroft, Gonzales. And Mystic Warrior Chang and his pet goat. But if history is written by the victors, who would make this film? Seems like since the Bush presidency, we’re all losers– except Bin Laden, who’s not that interested in history.
