The Insomniac’s Method

A brief note on method:

In general, I write one of these things when I see a film go by on TV. I don’t really get to make the initial active selection of what to write about– if I don’t have a serendipitous encounter with something then I don’t go out of my way to throw it in the blog. At the very least, a movie has to have landed in my DVR queue, though often enough I just run across a fragment on late-night TV of something I may or may not have seen, and watch enough of it to get a sense for what it’s going to taste like. And usually, if that taste is ripe enough and cheesy enough, and if the computer is close at hand, I pop out one of these posts.

This isn’t really what I set out to do when I started writing this thing– we’ll figure out later whether there’s a way back to whatever original vision I had. But it’s proving modestly entertaining. Now if only someone was reading it…
